A First Look at the 2025 Porsche 911
Porsche recently debuted its 2025 911 lineup, known in-house as the 992.2 generation. The lineup includes the Carrera, GT3, Turbo, and GT2, each powered by a flat-six boxer engine, as has been the case since 1963.

The performance and luxury are second to none, although the 2025 Porsche 911 models differ slightly.
What’s New With the 2025 Porsche 911 Lineup?
No matter which body family you prefer, Porsche has worked to increase aerodynamics and boost downforce for improved handling and stability. The bumpers have especially been redesigned to have a more aggressive and sporty look. In front, the 911 features larger intakes, while the rear bumper boasts a three-dimensional taillight, quite unlike previous versions.
Interior changes include a digital instrument panel and push-button start. The improved steering wheel controls complement the digital dash and give you more control over settings than ever. However, the classic leather interior remains standard with upgrades such as the black-and-red leather combo or club leather available on the Carrera Cabriolet.
Carrera
The 2025 911 Carrera is available in boldly different new paint colors: Vanadium Grey Metallic and Cartagena Yellow Metallic. You’ll also have your choice between the Coupe and Cabriolet body styles. Paint aside, the Carrera’s previous front lights have been removed. The Carrera now only has LED headlights, but this makes way for the available hood control radar module. Fans might notice how the 911 Carrera’s rear bumper, including the diffuser, and engine deck are reminiscent of the GT3.
The 2025 Carrera is more powerful than ever, with a 3.0L flat-six engine capable of up to 24 MPG. It also incorporates the turbochargers of the previous GTS. Manual transmission is not available, and all models feature rear-wheel drive.
GTS
The 2025 911 Carrera GTS will now have a hybrid powertrain and 3.6L twin-turbocharged flat-six engine versus the previous 3.0L engine. An eight-speed dual-clutch transmission is standard on the GTS, and all-wheel drive is available.
Porsche’s open-top Targa design is available exclusively on the 2025 911 Carrera 4 GTS.
Turbo
No new 2025 model will be available for the Porsche 911 Turbo or Turbo S. They continue to sport 3.6L engines for more powerful performance than the Carrera.
GT3
Aero bars, which were previously only available on the GT3 RS, are now standard on the Porsche 911 GT3. Improvements don’t stop at the body, either. If you’ve driven previous versions of the GT3, you may notice the shorter gear ratio with the 7-speed transmission that allows you to shift more quickly to take full advantage of the 4.0L engine. However, the biggest visual difference may be the option of rear seats with the Touring package.
